Teacher’s role
is very important in the learning process. They are essentially facilitators
and guides
for learners inside the classroom, in where there should be a variety of interactive activities done in order to
make students feel motivated to acquire the language. Another perspective is
that in a classroom it’s necessary to create a great environment (rapport) and
relationship with students in order to inspire them to achieve learning
outcomes successfully, Harmer (2007). Furthermore, learning environment (which
encourage learners to interact), students differences, a variety of useful
teaching methods are important aspects in Learner-centered teaching (Blumberg,
2012). Finally, there are some principles to be applied by the teacher as more learning
tasks, instructional design work, encouraging learning, allow building climates
for learning and evaluating which refers to measure learner`s knowledge through peer-assessment (students
evaluate their peers) or self-assessment (evaluating oneself). All in all, I would
use activities in which students get the time to talk and express themselves
through debates, interviews, presentations. Besides, I’d create climates for
learning due to allowing them to decide which activities they prefer to do
next.
