This
unit is mainly focused on grammar which means that a text has meaning through a combination,
organization, and changing parts or group of words. An agreement to this is
from Sinclaire, (2010) who thinks that a group of rules determine how well or
wrong a language is used through grammar. In grammar is included: forms, structures and uses. Grammatical forms are related to how
words are represented in a written text or in a speech (nouns, adjective,
determiner, etc.). These may vary in their functions according to how words
behave in a sentence.
Grammatical structures are related to the arrangement of words
which communicate meaning. Grammatical uses refer to transmit meaning through the context in
sentences. Finally, teaching grammar should not be done in an isolated way. It
should be taught based on content/discourse based and meaningfulness. For
instance, learners can learn grammar inductively through readings, Celce (1991).
All in all, as teaching grammar should not be taught in an isolated way, I
would use activities in which students will carry out grammar by themselves, I
mean in an inductive method. And, to accomplish this I will use suitable
sources like: websites, online games, to help them improve grammar.
