This unit is
mainly focused in one of the four important skills which is writing. Writing is a
productive skill as well as speaking. It refers that learners can write
different text
types such as the following examples: e-mails, text messages,
stories, essays, etc. According to Suleiman(2000), writing has a predominant
part in producing
language which implies practice, procedures and language development. However, Accuracy is a
writing subskills which it´s used to correct forms of language in paragraphs. It
also includes appropriacy style, register, organizing ideas, using features,
joining words/sentences, and appropriate functions. Moreover, writing must have
cohesion
(link ideas) and coherence
(logical sense). Finally, to produce an excellent writing it´s suggested
following some stages: developing ideas, organizing ideas, writing the first draft, editing, proofreading,
and writing the final version (re-drafting). Stages or techniques are really important
for learners to produce competent pieces or writing, Crews(1992). All in all, I
would motivate students to write blogs with topics they like and share what
they posted with friends in order to comment the blogs and give each other
positive feedback.
